Privacy policy

Askd (useaskd.com) is run by Kashif Mehmood. This page explains what we collect through this website, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Askd is in early beta: this policy covers the website and its forms, not the Askd product, which is not available yet. The product will get its own terms when it is.

The short version

  • We only collect what you type into our three forms, plus a scrambled form of your IP address to stop spam.
  • No cookies, no analytics, no advertising trackers. We do not sell or share your data for marketing.
  • Ask us to see or delete your data at any time through the contact form, and we will.

What we collect

Beta signup: your work email (required), your app or company name (optional), which platforms your app runs on, and, if you picked one of the “What do you want to learn first?” options at the top of the page, which one.

Design-partner application: your work email and your app’s name.

Contact form: your name, your email and your message.

With every submission we also store the time, which form you used, your browser’s user-agent string (the browser and system it reports), and a hash of your IP address. The hash is made with a one-way function and a secret value, so it cannot be turned back into your IP address; we use it only to limit how many submissions arrive from one place in a short time.

That is all. The site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.

Why we use it

We will not add you to a newsletter or send marketing beyond the beta, and we make no automated decisions about you.

Who else handles it

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

Where it is processed

These providers are based in the United States and process data there and in other countries. Where your data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the providers’ standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and California law, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable format; you can object to or restrict how we use it; and you can withdraw your consent. To do any of this, use the contact form and tell us the email address you used. We will reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

Security

Connections to this site are encrypted (HTTPS). Submissions are stored in Cloudflare and only the founder can access them. IP addresses are never stored in readable form.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
